JD Sell(Quist) is a multi disciplinary artist with focus on Painting, Installations and Performance work. He was born in Minnesota and raised in Colorado. He received a BFA with distinction in Painting at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS). Sell has shown regionally including Denver University, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College (FAC), Gallery of Contemporary art (GOCA) at UCCS. He has held residencies at The Saks Building art Studios, The Machine Shop, Sluice Building, and Pear Residency locally. Sell has served on boards and committees including the Pikes Peak Arts Council locally. He also is an active member of the local art community co-founding the artist group non-book-club-book-club (NBCBC.) Sell has Lectured and presented workshops at Colorado college, Denver University and UCCS. Sell currently is employed at the FAC and is Fabricator/Studio Assistant for artist Senga Nengudi.

He maintains his studio practice in Colorado, US.
